A review-first workflow

Useful quotes start with a reliable record.

InputResearch, podcast or customer interview recordings
Working viewPlayback, timestamps and editable speaker names
Primary outputSearchable transcript, Markdown, TXT and subtitle files

Use the source audio to check names, claims and quotes before the transcript becomes an article, episode or research note.

From conversation to evidence

Review the line before you reuse it.

Interview recordings carry proper names, unfinished sentences and context that generic summaries often lose. The editor keeps each line next to its timestamp so the source stays close.

01Upload the source

Start with a file you recorded, received or have permission to process.

02Rename the speakers

Replace generic labels with names after checking the actual conversation.

03Export the record

Copy quotes, export text or create subtitles from verified sentence timing.

For producers and researchers

Do the editorial work in one private project.

Use the transcript as a searchable first pass for a podcast edit, research archive, customer story or internal report. The original media remains private to the account.

When speaker or word timing is unavailable from the selected provider, CastTranscript keeps the transcript usable and shows the limitation instead of inventing precision.

Interview transcription questions

Can I use this for podcast interviews?

Yes. Upload the authorized interview recording, review speaker names and use the podcast workflow when you also need chapters and show notes.

Does it automatically identify every speaker?

Speaker labels appear when the selected model returns diarization. You can rename the labels in the editor and should verify them against playback.

Can I export quotes with timestamps?

The transcript keeps sentence timing when the provider returns it. You can replay a line in the editor and export the surrounding text.

Does the interview become public?

No. Projects remain private to the account. CastTranscript provides file exports rather than public transcript pages.
